The clip was a gift from her husband, Richard Burton, in 1965. Elizabeth Taylor once owned a sculptural sapphire, diamond, platinum and gold Fleur de Mer brooch by Tiffany & Co. designer Jean Schlumberger, a piece the jewelry house bought back during the epic auction of Taylor’s estate in December. Now returned to Tiffany’s hands, the jeweler did something special for its first public presentation by entrusting celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe to show the brooch in her newly-unveiled window displays celebrating red carpet glamour at the Tiffany New York flagship. It’s quite fitting that the stylist extraordinaire should be the first to present the piece. Taylor herself loved styling the jewel, a 1965 gift from her husband Richard Burton.
