Diamond Jeweler Tiffany honors Legacy of Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond and sapphire Fleur de Mer clip

Elizabeth Taylor once owned a sculptural sapphire, diamond, platinum and gold Fleur de Mer brooch by Tiffany & Co. designer Jean Schlumberger, a piece the jewelry house bought back during the epic auction of Taylor’s estate in December. Now returned to Tiffany’s hands, the jeweler did something special for its first public presentation by entrusting celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe to show the brooch in her newly-unveiled window displays celebrating red carpet glamour at the Tiffany New York flagship. It’s quite fitting that the stylist extraordinaire should be the first to present the piece. Taylor herself loved styling the jewel, a 1965 gift from her husband Richard Burton. Jean Schlumberger is one of the world’s most celebrated jewellery designers, and one of the greatest designers in Tiffany & Co.’s illustrious history. His creations were favoured by the world’s most famous and fashionable people, including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Diana Vreeland, the legendary editor of Vogue magazine, and Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor.

celebrity engagement rings

We’ve seen lots of blingy baubles on the hands of famous women over the years. Some of the relationships have come and gone, but rings are here to stay forever.

Kate-Winslet gold ring

Kate Winslet showed off her gold wedding ring in London after tying the knot to Ned Rocknroll in December 2012.

The 37-year-old movie beauty was given away by her Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio as she wed her third husband.

The wedding was kept so secret that even Kate’s parents didn’t know about it.

Only some of the couple’s close friends and Kate’s two children from her previous marriages were present.

Kate met 34-year-old Ned shortly after breaking up with Louis Dowler.

Christina Ricci confirmed her engagement to James Heerdegen in January 2013.

Amy Adams was surprised when Darren Le Gallo proposed with a one-carat brilliant-cut diamond designed by Jean Dousset in July 2008.

The Moneyball star popped the question to his longtime love, with whom he has six kids, using a custom $500,000 16-carat sparkler in April. Together since 2005, the couple previously declared they wouldn’t wed until gay marriage was legalized nationwide but admitted to changing their minds earlier last year. “We’d actually like to,” Pitt said in January. “And it seems to mean more and more to our kids.”
